A 75 years long wait for England at Lords finally comes to an end

A 75 years long wait for England at Lords finally comes to an end as they win the second Test match against Australia since 1934 .
Strauss and Flintoff turned out to be the key players helping the team with a remarkable victory, on the contrary the Aussies after their descent performance in the first test showed a poor play in all departments.
Even though at some stage when Michael Clarke and Brad Haddin were batting fabulously it felt like they may claim a record chasing victory but the fifth days play changed the scenario of the game with Freddy and Swan bowling well. What Australia needed was few more contribution from the top order batsmen, Though there were three bad decisions from the umpire which helped the English bowlers to send back the top orders, most shocking out of three was Strauss claiming a clean catch and umpire not referring to the third umpire, Seems like the Aussies got back what they did against India.
The News of Flintoff retiring shocked everyone leaving behind a question who is going to fill the gap of the great allrounder for England? Injuries throughout the carrier made the mighty to make a sorrow decision.
In the third match for England, playing Harmison in place of Stuart Broad might be a good option as Broad might be good in saving runs in onedayers and twenty twenty but bowling in England pitches needs either pace or swing and Broad lacks in both the department. For Aussies Huges need to work more on playing bouncers before he joins back the great Australian side.

Worsening went more worst for Aussies

A Terrible start of the second Test Match for Australia, as the first day was highly Dominated by the Englishmen. Batting first their openers gave them a dream start as Cook Just missed the century, while the skipper remained not out on 160 at stumps.
On the other hand the Aussies unlike their standards committed every single mistake in cricket one would hardly think of.Right from the beginning things were going against them as their frontline bowler Johnson went for 6.5 runs per over, Not enough, the different comedy of errors were displayed like the Skipper, one of the greatest fielders missing a ball between his gates, No ball bowled which finds an edge but still not sticking the keepers gloves, over throws, Missed runout chance, extreme wide down the legside going to the fence, If that wasn't enough the worsening went more worst when their only genuine spinner Nathan Hauritz damaged his finger during a caught and bowl chance and left the field.
Things settled a bit when they were able to get the middle orders quickly. Second Day the England will look to add 150 runs more to the total while the Aussies after learning from their mistakes would want to get the tailenders back quickly and give a good start like Cardiff.

Who says Test Cricket is Boring?

What a terrific last days play, the history was repeated in Cardiff, when Monty Panisar & James Anderson were able to take the flesh out of Lions mouth. In the last Ashes series same situation occurred when the tailenders were able to save the match for Australia ,but this time the revenge was taken by the Englishmen.
What an inspiring innings by Paul Collingwood following the do or die sitution, who fought bravely almost till the end and single handedly saved the match.
And also lets not take the efforts of physio who was four times on the field spending as much time as possible.
But friends that's what Ashes is all about, everything is fair after all they are fighting for the precious cup.
The Aussies even though may not have won the match but they carry the upper hand with their fabulous batting and bowling performance. Their Skipper has started to produce and crossed the eleven thousand mark. No doubt that they are going to bounce back in the second match at Lords starting on Thursday.

The First day of Ashes ends up balanced.

The First day of Ashes played at the new venue Cardiff in Wales, ends up in a balanced day's play as both the team placed themselves in a comfortable position at stumps.

With a less promising start, the Englishmen managed to recover as Petersen and Collingwood stayed calm in the middle adding over hundred runs to the total.

All Petersen, Collingwood and Prior completed a well made half centuries each.
For Australians, seamers did the damage with outswingers of Helfenhaus, bounce of Siddle and Nippy Johnson contributed couple of wickets each.

The second days play is going to be interesting as England would like to add seventy to hundred runs more to the total and Australians would look for a good opening start.

Ashes cup seems to be long crawling walk for the Ausies

The Aussies are facing a big problem with their opening slot as Huges fails in both the innings of warm up match against England Lions. Harmison picked his weakness by dropping short deliveries in both the innings, Huges failed to keep them down and perished in same fashion in both the innings falling in the slip cordon.
With Ponting struggling with his form, Symonds out of team and retirement of most of the star players Ashes cup seems to be long crawling walk for the Ausies.
On the other hand both the English openers score a century they seem to be fully prepared to retain the precious cup.
Beauty of Cricket at its Best with Rain falling outside and sitting inside with a cup of tea and hot bhajias, watching a Test played in England, It doesn't gets bigger than this..

Batting's class, perfection, style, elegance of Vaughan coming to an end

Michael Vaughan's announcement of retirement from senior cricket is going to be a major setback for the limited class, perfection, style, elegance which persists in current international cricket. After Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman he is the only batsmen who plays all the shots in the book in a copybook style. His elegance speaks with every shot he plays, especially the straight and cover drive whenever displayed is soothing to the eyes.

The result of disciplined bowling claimed a comfortable win for the Westindies in the second match as the Indian batsmen with less foot movement were trapped behind the wickets.
The Indian batsmen seems to be still in twenty twenty mood where all type of shots count but a fifty over game is different where shots have to be played with the merit of the ball. This was clearly absent as the Indian batsmen dint come in the line of ball and played away from the body.
"If you wanna sit then shit otherwise just get out of the pot" Rohit Sharma should better understand this with batsman like Abhishek Nayar waiting to step in. Just check the record of Sharma's past ten matches in international cricket which tells that he needs to really work hard to secure his place.

Finally India has Won thanks to the massive innings of Yuvi

Finally India has Won.. although the Windies came much closer to the target than expected the given target just proved sufficient by twenty runs, Thanks to the massive innings of Yuvi scoring a century with thick grass on outfield is really terrific, he indeed is in a good form.
Before World cup I thought Ashish Nehra should have been in the side with the fabulous Bowling figures throughout the IPL.
The moment I saw the Six hit out of Dhonis willow the words struck my mind "what if he had done it against the Englishmen when the country actually needed it". I don't understand where the helicopter shot went during the world cup.
Bad Patch for Rohit Sharma in International cricket still continues.
We are still waiting for Ishant Sharma to Produce..

T20 Format a Praise Or Curse?

As the World is moving faster and to catch up with its pace a new format of cricket has emerged in the form of shorter version keeping in mind the limited time available with viewers, which has added more of entertainment and slog hits right from the start of the Match and has completely changed the games scenario.

So is this the cricket which the Englishmen thought of when the invented this game, had they ever dreamed of cricket changing in such a way? is very hard to understand.

But if we have to judge its significance in current era then we have to look it from different perspectives.

If we see it from a viewers perspective then major people will appreciate this form of cricket, as from their sight its full of sixes and fours no matter who has hit the ball and how correctly it was hit they only want the ball to land in the stands.
If this wasn't the method of T20 then who would have ever imagined Harbhajan singh being tagged as an allrounder. This form of cricket has also encouraged female spectators to join the crowd as this does not requires a high IQ the only thing matters is bat hitting the ball and they join the crowd cheering unless knowing what has happened.

Knowing it from a players perspective one would hardly encourage this game as its very limited to prove themselves with their actual skills, as batting for five to ten overs or bowling just four overs may not reflect how good a Batsmen or Bowler he is.

With the growing trend of T20 cricket there wont be two long until we may find a maximum attendance of 10% for a Test match. The signs of which were already been seen while the Master Blaster was reaching his Milestone in Test cricket.

The underdogs treated Pakistanis turned into cashcows.

The World cup fever is over and the underdogs treated Pakistanis has turned into cashcows, how silently they reached towards the cup as if a lion towards the prey was watchful.
Though i supported Srilanka and felt they could defend the small total with the 'M' power was quickly turned into a wrong prediction with the way Afridi played the match winning innings. Dilshan's failure was the main setback for the Lankan's as he was the only batsmen for them in this cup who assured them a comfortable total.
Things went more worst to them when their peak bowlers were not able to take wickets and conceded plenty of runs.
Eventually what matters is the fact and the fact is that the Pakistanis have won and they are taking home the cup.

The new 'M' joined the party ie Mathews along with Malinga, Mendis and Murli..

The windies could not stand against the 'M' power of Srilanka and the whole team fell like a pack of cards.. this time the new 'M' joined the party ie Mathews along with Malinga, Mendis and Murli..

what a dream first over was bowled by Mathews. The ball attracted towards the stumps as if it was made of iron and the stumps had a magnetic power, as two balls went back of the inside edge while one off the thigh pad.

Cris Gayle did a good spectator job from the other side of the wicket as he saw his whole team falling in front of him.
What a Batsmen Dilshan is,he has all the shots in the book and that's why is very difficult for bowlers, he can easily convert good balls into boundaries. the way he stands still in stance with his back lift one and half foot above the surface and plays more wristy using his bottom hand, his balance is so good with perfect head positioning in level of body makes him easy to play on front as well as back foot.

Friends you might be thinking why i am writing so much about technique. That's for my newly growing cricketers. Within years i have been so much master of technique that i can easily read someones technique and can tell you why certain batsmen is failing to score.
For instance i can tell you about Petersen why he was more successful previously and not now.
Petersen is a more leg side player who scores most of his runs on leg side. When he came to international cricket his back lift came from second slip which is a perfect way if you are an on side player it gives you an extra second to bring the bat on ball, you have to play with your bottom hand but with due course of time his back lift has changed it comes from the leg stump which cuts the extra bit of second and he is always a contender of leg before the wicket.
Friends while playing on the leg side bottom hand helps while off side the top hand helps.

The topmost reasons for India's defeat is the IPL matches

What an insult to an injury to India, first they don't reach the semifinal and secondly the underdogs treated Pakistanis reach to the final consecutively in two T20 finals.
What a spell Umar Gul had in the slog overs, he was right on the spot, the yorkers were so perfectly bowled that even batsmen like Duminy and Albie could only convert it into singles.
Afridi was rightly sent up the order as we all knew he was been waisted down the order. From all this we come to a conclusion that the Pakistanis were able to learn quickly from their mistakes unlike the Indians who were so much in the air that repeatedly commited the same mistakes .
The Pakistanis knew that their chances were less in this world cup but Younis Khan played a great captains role to bring together the team.
I feel that the topmost reasons for India's defeat is the IPL matches because the players keep on competing within themselves, there is aggression, fight, between players, we also saw the words been exchanged between the players. There are also different coaches who have their own technique and principles towards the game. everyone tries to mold the players in their own way, one could hardly imagine what a player must be facing who has hundreds of advice and techniques from ten different coaches. The best example of the victim is Ishant Sharma. How good was he before the IPL and now he ends up with only two wickets in five matches and plenty of runs.
Its a serious matter which needs to be considered before there is a Divide and Rule.

Now the Indians have already reached west indies for the upcoming series.

Friends i leave you with a question please comment on it.
Should Dhoni be permitted to do so much ads or should the Board maintain some restriction on players?

The following lessons India learnt from the so called Past T20 world cup 2009..

Sorry Friends could not write for two days as i was not in a mood after Indias defeat. But was there any need of writing?NO.. we all know how badly we lost and were thrown out of the competition. If you needed some more masala news then you should have tuned India TV on, such a senseless, useless, comedy, pakaav and what not NEWS channel also when comes to Indias and Mahis comments makes some relevant points, its so easy as even our ten year old chotu can comment on Dhoni and how badly India lost.
I think Dhoni must start praying India Tv along with God as his carrier looks fully in their hands.(it does not mean that i follow India Tv,someone should ban that stupid channel).
The inside news is that the glasses of Dhoni's new house are stone proof, so that's why he looked less worried during presentation.

The only thing interesting in two of the India's matches was the introduction part of Yusuf Pathan "Hi I am Yusuf Pathan and my Nick name is Yusuf Pathan" i am sure some of his fellow cricketers must have made a popat of him.

Apart from this the only thing India gained from these matches is 'lessons'and the good thing is that they have already forgot the world cup like sore grapes and have started thinking about the upcoming westindies tour..

The following lessons India learnt from the so called Past T20 world cup 2009..

1.Mahi should leave cricket and chose the right carrier options may be in Bollywoods support staff. I have also heard he has updated his resume with Monster.com and Naukri.com. and Bipasha has again joined back john in the morning workouts and she no more tells "do you wanna do it again".
2.Ishant Sharma should consult Mahi for the best job provider.
3.Raina should bowl regularly and should personally go and write his name with permanent marker on score book at the number three position.
4.Rohit Sharma should come back to his original position and continue to play as a match winner.
5.Sehwag should getwell soon as he seems to be the one man army.
6.Jadeja shoud start eating more and should workout a couple of hours more in jym to atleast clear the 15 yards circle.
7.R.P.Singh to play the chatu role with captain in order to be regularly in the side.
8.Gambhir should start practicing how to get out in the nets especially when his team and country men wants him to get out(match me tikly phodna chod de). and should better concentrate on teams scores rather than his personal scores.
9.Zaheer should consult a good doctor before coming back in the side.
10.Dinesh Kartik should start practicing keeping wickets for India as Dhoni is changing his line
11.Usuf Pathan should join a good English speaking class and stop relying on his teammates.
12. Garry Kirsten should stat finding some other team if he wants to be named as a better coach. or if continued with India ask them to join the practice sessions more than the shooting sessions.
13. Kumble to go back to his cricket and forget building his carrier in commentary box if he doesn't wants to make the audience asleep during the match.
14. England's spectator should start supporting England in their home country.
15. Harsha Bhogle should shave off the artificial hair if he wants the audence to control their laugh. some say that he has transplanted his .....(beeeep)hair on his head and has also adviced verendra shehwagh to do so... so now you know why veeru was sent back in middle..

With Razzaq's comeback they seem to be a much balanced team

So the Pakistanis have won, what an effect on game does Abdul Razzaq make, he indeed is a true cricketer. who would have thought that the stronger looking Newzeland side will have to face defeat against the weaker Pakistani team.In previous matches younis khan was often seen correcting the fielding positions every single ball, what a frustration is it for a captain to spoon feed the youngsters with less maturity of game, but now with Razzaq's comeback they seem to be a much balanced team.
I feel that Afridi has to be sent up the order as he is been wasted down. Playing him as a bowler is nonsense when everyone wants him to crack his willow.
Absence of Taylor was clearly seen in the Kewi's side.
The first match was nearly one sided even though Simmons tried single handedly no other Batsmen showed sense of responsibility. The return of Gibbs form is a threat to other teams. Kallis is getting better day by day and is turning all the talks wrong about his place in the T20 side.

At last Kumble is found slow in the air, no no I am not talking about his bowling but about his commentary skills, he is so slow that the third ball is bowled but he is still talking about the first. And pitching of voice is so dull that people get confused whether they are listening to a cricket commentary or a condolence speech. But i am sure he will get better he is a great person and a true Gentleman.

Today is the decider for India lets Pray that Luke and Kewin get out early. And Dhoni please pick Jadeja......

We have to win both the matches if we have to keep the team and sponsors alive.....

After beating the two great teams of all time Indian entered the super eight. Yes you read correctly, i mentioned two great teams because everyone knows how they kicked off two great teams ie India and Pakistan out of the fifty overs world cup.

Indian team entered with a great pride and positive self confidence as most of the countrymen along with the Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar who confidently said that Indian team will manage to Defend the Championship, and why not, as all the players had shone well in the IPL, may be an over cricket been played back to back in couple of years.

But all talks and greatness failed as Indians lost against the West indies yesterday. i thought that West indies was the weaker team amongst the two big team England and South Africa which are next to come. With Yesterdays defeat the chances of Indian teams entering the Semis has narrowed as we face South Africa, whose chances of lifting this years cup are high along with England who are like wounded Lion who have just won a single game on their own soil.

There may be hundred of reasons behind Indias defeat, as some may say that Mahis concentration has shifted from cricket towards advertisement, he thinks more about his hair cuts rather than squarecuts, Morning workouts with Bipasha may help building a carrier but not in cricktet may be in Bollywood. Listening to all this things also makes me wonder how the hell they get time out of their busy schedules, as during a match we can see Mahi more in ads rather on wickets. And then we have comomments from Mr.Vengserkar"over Cricket may Kill"

But what i personally think about india's defeat is that they are playing with a Batsman less in the line up after the return of Verendra Shewag, It was all ok untill we had good start from the top three batsmen which cleared the gate for the next three batsmen to swing their bat with less worries but we never thought what if the top three batsmen fail, the tense of which was clearly seen yestraday when Dhoni and Yuvraj were plyaing the patch up the game and were not able to capitalize the part time blowers. Thans to the innings of Yuvi without which 130 on board seemed difficult .But then to 153 werestill difficult to defend as we don't have Malinga and Murli in our side who can take away the game from the opposition. If Indians have to win the next two matches then they have to bring Jadeja in side sacrificing one of their spinners as we do have Suresh Raina in our side who can bowl well and restrict runs as he has the habit of stopping a fraction of second before delivery where he cuts the batsmen,s flow of swing and also can read the batsmens move, i don't understand why he is not used and that's not enough we also Dhoni coming in number three position in the previous matches which was absolutely unnecessary when Raina is playing so well, he should have given Raina to practice and get some runs before the big matches.

Now let's see what happens tomorrow, we have to win both the matches if we have to keep the team and sponsors alive.....
